Aakash is here and to stay - Prof Moudgalya, IIT Bombay
Let us forget the past. Aakash is here and to stay.
IIT Bombay is coordinating the pilot study of 100,000 units (called Aakash 2), as I mentioned a few times
By the end of October, a good fraction of this order will be delivered. A group of leading experts from IITs, PSUs and the Government are now working on the
specs/processes, etc., for the next generation Aakash - yet to be named
- let us call it Aakash 3 - to distinguish it from Aakash 2.
We will be glad to give demos of Aakash 2 in important alumni events.

Alternatively, please drop by when in the near vicinity of IIT Bombay or
at MHRD, New Delhi.
Aakash has a potential to cause a revolution in the education sector.
This excellent computational/access device will be affordable to the
children of even the house maids, rickshaw drivers, construction and
farm workers and unemployed. This device will also be the delivery
mechanism for the excellent educational content that is getting
generated through the National Mission on Education through ICT (see for
example, http://spoken-tutorial.org/New). Let us work together to make
this dream reality.
