New Delhi: In order to make education much more interesting and attractive, the Indian government is trying to get a hold on youngsters of this generation by provide laboratory experiments on laptops and tablets through internet. After virtual classes, Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry is all set to introduce the concept of virtual labs that will help mathematics and science students understand laboratory preparations and experiments online.

According to the government officials, it will be the first laboratory of its kind where students will watch the videos of experiments through its portal 'Sakshat' and try to learn it in the easiest possible way. They will also be able to judge their performance and put up their queries, if any. The virtual labs are about to be launched by the end of next week.

In order to support its scheme of providing Aakash tablet at low costs to school and college going students, government has backed up this plan by introducing the concept of virtual labs and offering them their curriculum online.

As per the reports, the ministry has set a target for the coming three to five years to provide Aakash tablet PC to around 220 million Indian students. It is being assumed that virtual labs will have features like clarity in voice and high definition picture quality.

These labs have been reportedly developed by top IIT and Science & Technology Department's officials, which were being guided by the ministry.
